Serhii Semenov, associate Professor (UKEN) – completion of research data management training

Serhii Semenov, associate Professor (UKEN) from the Institute of Security and Computer Science of the University of the National Education Commission in Krakow completed the “Research Data Management: Introductory Course“, implemented on the NAVOICA educational platform and organized by the National Science Centre.
The training focused on issues related to modern research data management in scientific projects. The course curriculum covered, among other things, data management planning (DMP), the principles of Open Science, data sharing standards in accordance with the FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) principles, and best practices for archiving, documenting, and reusing research data.
During the course, participants also became familiar with the legal and ethical aspects of data processing in scientific research and the requirements of research funding institutions, which increasingly require the preparation of data management plans and ensuring their availability in scientific repositories.
The acquired competences support the development of scientific activities at the UKEN Institute of Security and Information Technology, in particular in the area of research on artificial intelligence, data analysis and cybersecurity, and also contribute to the implementation of open science standards in research projects carried out at the university.
